Back in 2000 Trevor Daniels, brother of Paul the magician started one of the UK’s biggest and brightest organ and keyboard magazines. With loads of news, reviews and personality profiles the magazine was the UK’s top publication and thanks to Trever we are able to bring you a number of pages from a set of old magazines which we have sourced.
With articles over 12 years old they make fun reading, especially the artist features.
This is the cover of the first edition from 2000 and we will be bringing you features from each edition thereafter.

Blackpool Tower Roland Power.

A few months ago Blackpool Tower saw the installation of a brand new Atelier AT900P which replaced the worn out Wersi Louvre which was put into the tower by the late Roy Scott. Roy did a sterling job for Wersi by putting this fantastic instrument into the tower, but sadly the addition of a Tyros 4 and the reliability problems saw the days numbered for the Louvre.

Roland UK have since installed a Roland AT900p which is producing stunning results. The organ works along side the famous tower ballroom wurlitzer and whilst it does not have the fame that the Tower Wurlitzer has, the organ is making a big name for itself in the hands of Tower organist David Lobban.
The Roland is a superb instrument and David has really taken to the organ. Visitors to the tower have commented that the organ sounds as good as the long standing wurlitzer and David makes this organ sing. One visitor to the tower emailed us to say what a superb afternoon they had at the tower, listening to David Lobban playing.

Of course Phil Kelsall is Mr Wurlitzer and his fame at the tower was recognised with a recent MBE. You can see videos of Phil and David on YouTube performing at the Tower. Anyone in Blackpool should visit and hear David and Phil performing, they really are top notch entertainment.
